Powertech is offering an opportunity for a US-based Business Development Lead to join our team. Be part of an organization contributing to the energy transition, actively shaping the future of the power industry.

Role Overview

Join our team leading business development for the utility and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) market in the United States. As a key player in our organization, be responsible for managing and expanding an existing set of customers, while also growing the US utility customer base by identifying and pursuing relationships with new clients.

Major Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management: Effectively manage and grow relationships with an existing set of utility and OEM customers, identifying opportunities for growth through cross-selling of the full portfolio of Powertech products and services to meet their evolving needs.
  • New Business Development: Proactively identify and engage with potential target customers within the utility and OEM market. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand our customer base, leveraging market trends and competitive intelligence. Identify potential clients in our target industries and complete appropriate research of the prospective client’s business and service need. Leverage CRM tools to optimize prospecting efforts and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Project and Proposal Management: Lead the coordination and execution of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations. Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholder.
  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies within the utilities and electrical manufacturing landscape. Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team to guide business strategy. Lead the development of business cases for new services and offerings that reflect the changing needs in the market. Represent Powertech at conferences, meetings, and industry events.
  • Estimated travel is 25-50%
Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field

Technical Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in business development and marketing in a related industry for professional services
  • Experience in establishing and managing strategy partnerships with key industry players, demonstrating a knack for collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships
  • Previous experience in engineering consulting would be an asset
  • Experience writing proposals and leading client presentations
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
